  33. DESCRIPTION
  34.  
  35.     AmyBoard is a graphical chessboard, that can serve as a user
  36.     interface for GNU Chess, for the ICS (Internet Chess Server) and
  37.     for itself as a PGN (Portable Game Notation) file editor. The
  38.     original xboard can also be used for electronic mail
  39.     correspondence chess, but this possibility is not yet integrated
  40.     into AmyBoard, as this requires cmail, which is a Perl script.
  41.  
  42.     As an interface to GNU Chess, AmyBoard lets you play a game
  43.     against the machine, set up arbitrary positions, force variations,
  44.     or watch a game between two machines.
  45.  
  46.     As an interface to the Internet Chess Server (ICS), AmyBoard
  47.     lets you play against other ICS users, observe games they are
  48.     playing, or review games that have recently finished.
  49.  
  50.     You can also use AmyBoard as a chessboard to play through games.
  51.     It will read and write game files and allow you to play through
  52.     variations manually. You can use it to browse games off the net
  53.     or review GNU Chess, ICS, and correspondence games you have saved.
  54.     These features are available at all times; even if you do not have
  55.     access to GNU Chess or the ICS.
